Serhiy Arbuzov

Serhiy Arbuzov (Ukrainian Сергій Геннадійович Арбузов; born March 24, 1976 in Donetsk ) is a Ukrainian businessman, economist and politician. From 28 January to February 22, 2014, he was Deputy Prime Minister first executive head of government of Ukraine.

Arbuzov studied economics at the University of Donetsk, in the 2000s he was engaged inter alia in the private bank. In 2005 he was a member for a short time the party Our Ukraine ( Narodnyj Soyuz " Nasha Ukraine Corporation " ) of the then president Viktor Yushchenko.

In December 2010, President Viktor Yanukovych suggested him as the new chairman of the National Bank of Ukraine; Arbuzov was at the time of his appointment, the youngest chairman of a European Central Bank. In December 2012, he was appointed First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov at the newly formed cabinet. Arbuzov is considered a close associate of Yanukovych and as a friend of his son Olexandr. As Prime Minister Mykola Azarov after persistent anti-government protests on January 28, 2014 resigned from his office, took over as acting Arbusow whose official duties.

After the fall of President Yanukovych this was together with another protagonist of his regime, including Serhiy Arbuzov, ruled on 29 March by Congress decision from the Party of Regions.
