Serhiy Klyuyev

Serhiy Petrowytsch Kliuev ( born August 19, 1969 in Donetsk, Ukrainian SSR ) is a Ukrainian businessman and politician. Since 2006 he is member of the Ukrainian parliament, the Verkhovna Rada. He is the younger brother of Andrij Kliuev.

Life

From 1987 to 1992 he studied at the National Technical University Donetsk and trained as a mining engineer. Then Kliuev was until 1994 Commercial Director of Trade House Podshipnik, a joint venture company in 1994 and was Vice President and Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Ukrpodshipnik, a group that is active in the industrial, commercial and banking area. In the years 2000-2006 he was there temporarily CEO.

From 1997 to 2005 he was temporarily board member of the Slav AG Company, a holding company based in Vienna which mainly trades in steel and nonferrous metals.

Kliuev was 2002-2005 Vice Chairman of the regional council of the Donetsk Oblast. In April 2006 he was elected for the Party of Regions as a deputy in the Verkhovna Rada. He is a member of the Ukrainian delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, PACE and serves on the Committee on Banking and Finance in the Rada. Since January 2007 he has been Member of the Supervisory Board of the National Bank of Ukraine.

Kliuev is married to Irina Kljujewa (born 1964 ), a daughter and a son Andrij has Olha (* 1992). He is the author and owner of 39 patents in the field of non-ferrous metallurgy, cable production and electrical technology. The Ukrainian magazine Focus declared him and his brother Andrei in 2010 the richest men in Ukraine.

After the fall of President Viktor Yanukovych in February 2014, the accounts of Serhiy Kliuev and his brother in Switzerland and Austria were locked.
