Serial Butcher
Serial Butcher is a Belgian death metal band from Ghent, which was founded in 1995, disbanded in 2000 and was re-established in the same year.
History
The band was formed in 1995 by guitarist Hendrik and drummer Nico. There was a first demo, which was released in 1997. At this time the group played two or three gigs a month. The band played as the opening act for bands like Loudblast, baking soda, Suffocation and Aborted. It was followed by The Demo Exhumed Rotting in 1998, with the shooting in slben year took place this in the Midas Studios in Lokeren. After the recordings, bassist Bob left the band. As a replacement bassist Peter came to the band, while Tim joined the band as the new singer. The band broke up in 2000. Nico, Hendrik and singer Steven decided however Kirz on the band to start new. They subsequently published in 2001, the demo Butchers Forever. In January 2003 the band signed a contract with the U.S. label Deep Send Records for the release of the EP Genocide Landscape. The recordings of this took place under the direction of Kris Belaen ( Aborted, In -Quest ). It was followed by several line-up changes: Koen Van Goethem came as the new bassist for the band, while Kurt " Monie " Termonia joined the band as a singer. In April 2004, Gijs Cielen came as a guitarist for the band. The end of 2008 the band recorded the album A Crash Course in Cranium Crushing on. The album was recorded in two weeks in the Swedish Berno Studio, where Henrik Larsson ( The Haunted, Amon Amarth, Vomitory ) worked as a producer. A demo, which included three songs, was published in advance. Then, the band reached an agreement for the release of two albums at Unique Leader Records. A Crash Course in Cranium Crushing appeared in this in 2010.
