Serkan Çalik

Serkan Çalık ( born March 15, 1986 in Dinslaken ) is a Turkish- German footballer. He plays in the storm.

Career

Association

In his youth Çalık played for MSV Duisburg and Borussia Mönchengladbach, before moving to Rot-Weiss Essen 2004. In 2006 he went with Rot-Weiss Essen on to the 2nd Bundesliga. For the season 2007/ 08 he moved with Barış Ozbek of food to the Turkish club Galatasaray tradition. His first goal for Galatasaray shot Çalık on 12 November 2007 in the league game against Gençlerbirliği Ankara.

During the winter break of 2009/10 Serkan joined Gençlerbirliği Ankara. In July 2011 he was arrested on suspicion of match-fixing. In Gençlerbirliği he was the coach Thomas Doll and his successor Ralf Zumdick placed regularly. In the first half of the season 2011/12 he was no longer preferred by new coach Fuat Çapa and only came up with only one stake. As a result, his running contract was terminated after a clarifying conversation with coaches and club management with mutual agreement the winter break.

He then moved to the Turkish second division Kayseri Erciyesspor. At season's end he left Erciyesspor and moved to league rivals Şanlıurfaspor. Already the winter break, he left this club and moved to second round to Samsunspor.

National

For the German U21 national Çalık graduated five matches and scored one goal. In January 2008, Çalık but decided to continue to play for the Turkish national team.
