Ralf Zumdick

Ralf Zumdick ( born May 10, 1958 in Münster ) is a German football coach and former football player.

Career

Zumdick (nicknamed " Cat" ) began his career in his hometown at SC Preußen Münster before moving to VfL Bochum in 1981. Under coach Rolf sheepfold Zumdick be developed for regular players and stood in the meantime just before jumping into the German national team. His greatest success was reaching the final of the DFB - Pokal in 1988, the 0-1 lost his team through a free kick from Lajos Detari against Eintracht Frankfurt.

In 1995 Zumdick ended his active career and joined the coaching staff of VfL Bochum. Among the coaches Klaus Topp Möller, Ernst Middendorp and Bernard Dietz assisted Zumdick as an assistant coach before he took over the head coach - office in December 1999.

This season Zumdick succeeded with VfL return to the 1st Bundesliga. In the following Bundesliga season 2000/ 01 Zumdick but was on leave on 12 February 2001 and replaced by Rolf sheepfold of the descent, however, could not prevent.

Zumdick who incidentally created a second profession as an owner of an indoor soccer facility in Bochum, worked to as coach of the Ghanaian club Asante Kotoko. He later coached the Ghanaian national team, as well as the younger Olympic team of Ghana. In December 2003, the Hamburger SV Ralf Zumdick committed as an assistant coach for his Bundesliga team. In this position Zumdick recently worked together with Ronny Teuber as an assistant to head coach Thomas Doll. On 31 January 2007, the club parted by the entire coaching staff after the HSV had slipped into the Bundesliga in the last place.

Zumdick also worked as an assistant coach Thomas Doll - from 13 March 2007 to end of 2008 season Borussia Dortmund and from the start of season 2009/10 at Gençlerbirliği Ankara. On 21 October 2010 the club announced the dismissal of Doll. Zumdick then took over as coach until April 25, 2011, when they separated by mutual consent.

In August 2011 Zumdick went to work as a sports director at the Iranian giants Persepolis FC Tehran. In December 2011, he took over for a few days as interim coach, the training of the club. In April 2012, he finished his work there.

In early July 2012, he became head of the VDV training camp for unsigned football players and convalescent for three months.

On December 19, 2013 he was again beside Doll assistant coach of the Hungarian first division club Ferencvaros Budapest.
