Seton Montolieu Montgomerie

Seton Montolieu Montgomerie ( born May 15, 1846 in London, † November 26, 1883 in Windsor, Berkshire ) was a Scottish nobleman and tennis player.

Life

Seton Montgomerie, an older brother of George Arnulph Montgomerie, arrived in 1846 in London to the world. His parents were Archibald Montgomerie, 13th Earl of Eglinton and Theresa Newcomen. On June 11, 1870, he married Nina Janet Bronwen Williams, with whom he had three daughters. Montgomerie served temporarily as a lieutenant in the regiment of Scots Guards.

As a player, he took in 1878 and 1880 at the Wimbledon Championships in part, but did not get beyond the second round.

He died in 1883 at the age of 37 years.
