Sevelen

Sevelen is a municipality in the canton of St. Gallen. It is located in Constituency mountain.

Geography

Sevelen is located in the Rhine valley to the west of Vaduz on the border with Liechtenstein. The municipality comprises Sevelen next to the village Sevelen the hamlet Rans, Oberräfis, Ortisei and the Sevelerberg.

The municipality is situated on the eastern slope of the Alvier. The highest point it reaches in the 2,382 m high Fulfirst, the boundary point to whales city. In the valley, the area extends to the Rhine. Am Rhein is located in the Fösera also the lowest point of the municipality ( 451 m).

In the north Sevelen borders book and grabs, on the west by whales city, to the south Wartau and on the east by the Vaduz Liechtenstein towns and Triesen.

Attractions

Monumental are the Reformed village church and the Old Rhine Bridge Vaduz Sevelen.

  • Huldreich Gustav Sulzberger (1819-1888) was in the Evang. Parish Sevelen 1866-1882 worked as a pastor and wrote the Sulzberger Chronicle.
