Seventh Avenue (band)

Seventh Avenue was a Christian heavy metal band from Wolfsburg, Germany.

History of the band

In 1989 began a couple of teenagers, inspired by heavy metal bands to make music himself. Your CD was released by a small label.

Two years later, the singer Joachim Berg claws left the band, and then only seventeen year old guitarist Herbie Langhans took the place as a singer. Because of the change began the band to start thinking about a new name. With "Seventh Avenue " everyone agreed.

In 1993 they released their first demo " First Strike ". The demo was far more successful than expected, so followed many live concerts.

A year later, they planned to record their new album " Rainbow Country ", but because of in-band crises it was delayed. The second guitarist suddenly left the band, so had to Herbie play both guitars. After a few months, the album was nevertheless released, again with a great success. In 1996 the band signed a contract for two CDs with "Treasure Hunt Records ". Immediately, she began recording for their next album "Tales of Tales", with which they made it to 18th place of the Japanese heavy metal charts. 1997 the drummer Louis shock left the band, and Mike Tiller took his place. Andi Gutjahr was clamped as a guest musician on the album "South Gate", which appeared in 1998. 1999 also left the band William bat. So Herbie and Mike stood there alone, but they found after a short time a bass player and someone for the second guitar: Geronimo Stade and Florian God lives. Not long after the recording was followed by several concerts. As the demand for the band was very big in Brazil, the label " Megahard Records " bought the license rights for South America to the CDs so they pressed the albums directly in Brazil.

The end of 2001 began recording for the album "Between the Worlds". In September 2002, the band embarked on a tour through Brazil, which was organized by " WMetal Concerts" and " Megahard Records ". Signed back in Germany "Seventh Avenue " still has a contract with the label Massacre Records, where they released the album " Between the Worlds " and 2004 " Eternals " 2003. The bassist Geronimo Stade left the band in 2004 and Markus Beck took his place.

The album " Terium ", the first concept album by the band, was released through Massacre Records on March 28, 2008. Published in 2009 the album "South Gate" of 1998 as a remake with " Ulterium Records ".

The band was in September 2012 their resolution known, wherein a portion of the band members who want to start a new band with a different name.

Style and meaning

"Seventh Avenue " played European heavy or power metal, which can be compared with the German bands Helloween, Rage or Gamma Ray. Melodic vocals and genre-typical guitar riffs are dominant. The lyrics were based on Christian White Metal without implementing the associated glam- rock attitude.

Like many other Christian metal bands celebrated "Seventh Avenue " its greatest success in Latin America and Asia.
