Seventh Wonder

Seventh Wonder is a Swedish progressive metal band that was founded in 2000 in Stockholm.

History

The band was formed in 2000 by bass player Andreas Blomqvist, electric guitarist and drummer Johnny Sandin Johan Liefvendahl, after their previous band project had dissolved. The end of 2000 came keyboardist Andreas Kyrt Söderin as another member of the band. With Seventh Wonder (2001) and Temple in the Storm ( 2003) took the band in the years to two demos. In subsequent years, there were some line-up changes. So was Ola Halén of the power metal band Insania temporarily singer of the band.

Longest member of the band was Andi Kravljaca (ex Heave, Elsesphere ). With this the debut album Become in 2005 was published after the band had reached a contract with the Finnish label Lion Music. Shortly after the recording of the band of singer Kravljaca separated again. Tommy Karevik (ex Vindictiv ) the band found a new singer in 2005.

The second album Waiting in the Wings was published the following year. It was mixed and mastered by Tommy Hansen. 2007 Seventh Wonder played concerts throughout Europe and wrote new material for the next album. The third album called Mercy Falls and was published in 2008.

After another tour of Europe, the band released their next album The Great Escape in 2010. Was on June 22, 2012 announced Tommy Karevik as successor to Roy Khan as the lead singer of Kamelot. Karevik supported Kamelot in 2011 on the European tour as a backing vocalist. At the concerts he was already each take a title as a lead singer. Karevik announced on the same day announced that he will not leave Seventh Wonder anyway and support the band further.

Style

Characteristic of the band is the high technical level of play, especially that of the electric bass. The works are melodic with clean vocals. Also style-defining is the numerous tempo changes in the songs.
