Severin Lüthi

Severin Lüthi ( born January 5, 1976 in Bern ) is a former Swiss tennis player and current assistant coach of Roger Federer. He also acts as advisor to Stanislas Wawrinka.

Lüthi grew up in Stettlen on near Bern. As a youth player, he won the Orange Bowl against eventual top player Gustavo Kuerten. At 17 he was already Swiss champion in the men's and he came to Grasshopper Club Zurich, where he played for the first team. He was also a sparring partner of the Swiss Fed Cup team, as well as Martina Hingis. He finished school in order to be professional, but already broke with 20 years of his active career and worked in his father's company of a friend. Thus he obtained a university admissions, with which he successfully enrolled at the University of Bern for business. However, he abandoned his studies again.

Since summer 2007, Lüthi Roger Federer accompanied on the tour. In the four Grand Slam titles Federer he was the sole coach. Together with José Higueras and Paul Annacone, Federer won two more titles. Since January 2014, he now shares the coaching job with Stefan Edberg.
