Shad (Rapper)

Shadrach Kabango, better known as Shad or Shad K, is a Canadian rapper from London, Ontario. He was born in 1982 in Kenya, but grew up in Ontario. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Business from Wilfrid Laurier University and is currently working on his Master's degree in Liberal Arts at Simon Fraser University.

His latest album TSOL was published on May 25, 2010 in Canada and on October 5, 2010 in the U.S. and probably represents the most versatile musical that Shad has released to date. The album reached # 24 in the Canadian album charts and was nominated for the 2010 Polaris Music Prize. The first single from the album " Yaa I Get It" was released in April 2010.

Career

His first album When This Is Over ( 2005) was produced by Shad itself and financed with the help of his win at the 91.5 The Beat 's Rhythm of the Future talent competition. Even then negotiated Shad 's lyrics from many different facets of life. For example, the song " I'll Never Understand", which has the genocide in Rwanda and parts of poems about his mother, who is from Rwanda implies.

2007 Shad was taken from the label Black Box Recordings under contract. In the same year he published under this label, his second album, The Old Prince. The album was nominated at the 2008 Juno Award as Rap Recording of the Year, nominated for the 2008 Polaris Music Prize as well as two nominations at the MuchMusic Video Awards. In 2009, he won with the album the indie award in the category Favourite Urban Artist.

In May 2010, then followed his latest work TSOL. It is not known what the abbreviation stands and it also says his management did not know what it means. In an interview with Exclaim! Shad replied to the question about the meaning of the name: " TSOL does not stand for any one thing I just liked the sound of it It Represents the insufficiency of language to express feeling and ideas, Which is why we have art It.. . can stand for a number of things: the struggle of love, truth shall overcome lies, 'lost ' backward It's representative of the ambiguity of life in a way ". . So far, the singles " Yaa I get It," "Rose Garden" and "We, Myself and I" have been published. Above all, the song "Rose Garden" is striking, with a very nice Motown sample and support of Lisa Lobsinger. Also published this video is at a very high artistic level. But songs like " A Good Name ", produced by Classified, in which Shad discusses the origin and meaning of his name and how this has affected his character, or the track " At The Same Time ", which deals with situations in which one could cry and laugh at the same time, are evidence Shad 's musical and lyrical skills.

In September 2010, MTV News Canada announced that shad with Dallas Green is working on a remix of one of his songs as well as a completely new song, the " vinyl single will be released as a 12. Currently he is on tour ( Born To Run Tour ) by the United States with Canadian rapper k -os.

In October 2013 Shad released his fourth album " Flying Colours ", in which, among other things, in addition to k -os also more Canadian artists such as Saukrates, Ian Kamau, involved the rapper Eternia and Lisa Lobsinger.
