ShadowKeep is an English power and progressive metal band from Guildford, founded in 1999.

History

The band was formed in 1999 by guitarists Chris Allen and Nikki Robson. In October, she took along with singer Rogue M. on an EP at Thin Ice Studios, where Threshold guitarist Karl Groom worked as a producer. The song Dark Tower could be heard on a compilation of a German magazine, which the band reached an agreement in June 2000 with Limb Music Productions. With this label, the first two albums and Corruption Within A Chaos Theory published. The band met up with Ronnie James Dio, Halford, Symphony X, Dream Evil and Flotsam and Jetsam and played among other things, in the UK, America, Germany and the Netherlands. Meanwhile, the members of the band changed several times, among others, bassist Stony Grantham joined the band. Then, work on the third album The Hour Glass Effect began again with Karl Groom at Thin Ice Studios. Meanwhile, singer Richie Wicks came beforehand with Tygers of Pan Tang and Angel Witch operate, and drummer Omar Hayes to fill. After the band had signed a contract with Melissa Records, the album was released in November 2008. Wicks back in 2009 left the band and was replaced shortly thereafter by Matt Oakman.

Style

The band plays power metal with progressive slots, being comparable with Queensrÿche.
