Shahin Diniyev

Diniyev Şahin ( born July 12, 1966 at Rajon Beyləqan, Azerbaijan SSR; alternative spellings: Shahin Diniyev, Russian Шахин Диниев; Schachin Dinijew ) is a former Azerbaijani footballer and current coach. Most recently, he had coached the national football team of his native country.

Playing career

Shahin Diniyev began his football career in 1987 with Neftchi Baku in the capital of his home country. Without the use he moved in the same year for FK Ganja. After a short break at the Russian club FK Fakel Voronezh Azerbaijanis returned to ganja and played there until 1992. Last season, however, no longer at FK but when local rivals Dinamo. Then he went again to Russia to hire for two years at Terek Grozny. From 1994 to 1996 Diniyev played in Israel for Hapoel Tayyibe and Beitar Tel Aviv. Then he let his career fade away where he had those also started - in the capital Baku in his home country. Until 1998, he played there still with the teams of Farid and Dinamo Baku.

National

From 1992 to 1996 Shahin Diniyev played 16 international matches for the national football team of Azerbaijan.

Coaching career

Diniyev worked as a youth coach before he got his first head coaching job at FK Qarabağ Agdam and later his former club FK Ganja. In November 2005, he got the job as coach of his country. His goal was to restructure the national team and to place great emphasis on the involvement of talented young players. The first game in Tofiq - Bəhramov Stadium against Ukraine after all, his team achieved a 0-0 draw. But two unsuccessful years later, the Azerbaijani Football Association expressed first public discontent with Diniyevs work. The fans demanded after the 1:6 defeat to Serbia 's resignation as coach. Diniyev were the demands for and resigned as coach.
