Shanti Roney

Shanti Roney Gray (born 24 November 1970 at Spånga - Tensta, Stockholm, Sweden) is a Swedish actor.

Life

Shanti Roney Grey was born as a son of the English musician Steve Roney, who settled after many years of traveling in India in Sweden and Anita, who was involved in several art projects in Stockholm. After a few years the family moved from Stockholm to a farm after Farstorp, near the small Swedish town of Hässleholm, in an artistic community where they lived together with like-minded, including Don Cherry, whose children Neneh Cherry and Eagle - Eye Cherry. The community itself is located not far from the shooting location of Roneys movie together! .

During childhood he played with Neneh and Eagle Eye in a kind of amateur theater group and sought after, he moved because of the visit of the high school to Stockholm, also more amateur theater. After school, he lived for a year with a good friend in Brooklyn, New York City and was acting there as well in smaller theaters, so he decided to visit the Teaterhögskolan in Stockholm after his return to Sweden. However, he interrupted his studies in acting in favor of a commitment on Stadsteatern again. Over his many years of theater involvement, he has also been booked for smaller supporting roles in film and television productions.

However, his film career took off after winning the Guldbagge, the most important Swedish Film Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role as Glenn in the comedy-drama The way out. The second nomination in the same category in 2002 for Beck - Price of Revenge hinted at his potential and put Roney for certain role types. He is often booked for crime series and films to mimic the losers or criminals.
