Sharavyn Gungaadorj

Scharawyn Gungaadordsch (Mongolian Шаравын Гунгаадорж; * 1935) is a politician of Mongolia and was the 15th Prime Minister of Mongolia (Chairman of the Council of Ministers ) from 21 March to 11 September 1990.

Life

Gungaadordsch was born 1935 in Ichchet sum in Dorno Gobi aimag. He studied at the Russian State University for Agronomy in Moscow with a doctorate in agronomy and is a member of the Mongolian Academy of Sciences. He is married and has three children.

Before he became prime minister, he was three times Member of Parliament ( Big State Khural ), Minister of Agriculture and Ambassador of Mongolia in North Korea and Kazakhstan.

In a democratic Mongolia since 1992 he had again held a seat in Parliament from 2000 to 2004, representing the electoral district 33 in Selenge aimag. During this period he was also Chairman of the Standing Committee on Environment and agricultural development.
