Shearwater (band)

Shearwater is an indie rock band that was founded in Austin, Texas by the members Jonathan Meiburg and Will Sheff of Okkervil River band.

History

Jonathan Meiburg and Will Sheff, who worked together for the first time in the band Okkervil River, Shearwater founded in 2001 to publish calm under this name songs that they worked.

On the debut album by the band The Dissolving Room Kimberly Burke played bass for the first time, a short time later Thor Harris joined as a drummer at Shearwater. Through contributions of multi-instrumentalist Howard Draper and performances with The Mountain Goats, Akron / Family or Blonde Redhead, the band gained a higher level of awareness. In the further course, the music Shearwaters developed and will be albums like Everybody Makes Mistakes, Winged Life and Thieves EP published.

In May 2006 Shearwater brings her fourth album, - Palo Santo - on the market. Around a year later, in April 2007, the band released under the label Matador Records a special edition of Palo Santo, which contains, among other bonus material and Newly admitted songs of the first publication.
