Shelikof Strait

Geographical location

The Shelikof Strait (English Shelikof Strait) is a strait between the southwest coast of Alaska and the Kodiak and Afognak islands. The Cook Inlet is located at the northern end of the strait.

The strait is named after the Russian sailors and merchants Grigori Ivanovich Shelikof. Shelikof founded in 1784, the first Russian settlement in Alaska Three Saints Bay on Kodiak.
