Shenzhou 3

Shenzhou 3 (Chinese神舟 三号) launched on 25 March 2002 and was the third unmanned flight of China's Shenzhou spaceship from the series. This mission was the first Shenzhou flight, which would have been able to take a man into space. The main objective was to test the life support systems. On board therefore a test dummy, the physiological signals of a person, such as heart sounds, pulse, respiration, food intake, metabolism and body waste was simulated.

The launch of the spacecraft has been postponed by a few months to make some changes to the design can. For Shenzhou 3 new furniture should be used, however there were implementation problems, so you had to resort to an old system.

In the course of the mission, Shenzhou changed 3 orbit. The first exchange took place on 29 March at 10:15 UTC, as the correction engines were fired for eight seconds and then the spaceship brought 337.2 kilometers in an orbital altitude of 330.2 ×. The second change took place on March 31. Shenzhou 3 flew with an inclination of 42.40 degrees, the first two flights, however, with 42.59 °.

On board 44, various experiments were performed. Shenzhou 3 landed successfully after 107 orbits around the world have been completed. The return capsule landed on 1 April 2002 at 08:51 UTC in Inner Mongolia.
