Sherwood Forest Plantation

Known Sherwood Forest Plantation, also known as John Tyler House, is a property of historical importance on the north bank of the James River in Charles City County in Virginia.

The zweieinhalbgeschossige main building was built in 1780. The 1190 acre grand estate was originally Creek Plantation. After his presidency, John Tyler lived in the house until his death in 1861. Tyler conducted extensive extensions through to Sherwood Forest Plantation, which led to a 300 foot unusually long front facade, while the depth of the main building not more than one room is.

On October 15, 1966 Sherwood Forest Plantation was listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Before that it was already since July 4, 1961 a National Historic Landmark.
