Shimotsuke (Tochigi)

Shimotsuke (Japanese下野 市, -shi, literally, lower panel) is a city in Tochigi Prefecture in Japan.

Shimotsuke is located north of Oyama and south of Utsunomiya.

History

The city was Shimotsuke (南 町, machi -河内), Kokubunji (国 分 寺,町-machi ) and Ishibashi (石桥 町, machi ) founded on 10 January 2006 from the former Machi Minamikawachi.
