Shin’ichi Yumoto

Shin'ichi Yumoto (Japanese汤 元 进 一, Yumoto Shin'ichi, born December 4, 1984 in Wakayama, Wakayama Prefecture) is a Japanese wrestler. He won at the Olympics in London in 2012 a bronze medal in the free style bantamweight

Career

Shin'ichi Yumoto, whose twin brother Ken'ichi is also a successful wrestler, began as a teenager in 1994 with the rings. He focuses on the free style. He first visited the Takushoku University, but is now a member of the Japanese Self-Defense Forces and includes their Ringer Club in Saitama prefecture. His coaches were or are Hajime Wakui and Hiromichi Ito. The 1.64 meter tall athlete wrestles bantamweight, the weight category up to 55 kg, while his brother Kenichi starts in the featherweight ( 60 kg).

Shin'ichi Yumoto joined as a junior on the wrestling mat is not particularly apparent. His first good placement at a major championship dates back to 2006, where he took 2nd place at the Japanese students bantamweight championship behind Kohei Hasegawa and before Yasuhiro Inaba. In 2007 he came to the Japanese championship behind Tomohiro Matsunaga and Hideki Taoka to 3rd place. In 2008, he won his first Japanese championship, where he defeated in the final Yasuhiro Inabe.

In 2009 he was employed at the World Championships in Herning / Denmark. He came there to a victory over John Pineda from Canada, but then lost to Riswan Gadschijew from Belarus. Since this did not reach the final, he was eliminated and only came on the 13th Place. In the Japanese Championship 2009, which was held after the World Cup, he disappointed. He lost in the quarter- final against Fumikata Morishita and therefore only came on the 5th Place.

2010 Shin'ichi Yumoto was in New Delhi before Nasibulla Kurbanov from Uzbekistan, Lee Woo- joo, South Korea and Yang Kyong Il, North Korea Asian champions. This was the first international champion title, which he won. In December 2010, he also won his second Japanese title. He had Tomohiro Matsunage, Yasuhiro Inaba and Yasuhiro Morita behind.

In 2011 he graduated from Istanbul his second start in a World Cup. He won there over Juri Ledenew, Ukraine, Ahmet Peker, Turkey and Naranbaatar Bayaraa, Mongolia, but then lost to Nicholas Simmons from the United States and ended up in 8th place.

In March 2012, he battled through a 2nd place in the Qualifying Tournament in Astana behind the Indians Amit Kumar a place at the Olympic Games in London. In London, he came to victories over Kim Jin- cheol, South Korea and Mihran Jaburjan, Armenia, then he lost to Wladimir Chintschegaschwili from Georgia, but fought his way to a victory in the consolation round to former world champion Radoslaw Welikow from Bulgaria an Olympic bronze medal.
