Shizuo Fujieda

Fujieda Shizuo (Japanese藤枝 静 男, real name: Katsumi Jiro ,胜 见 次郎; born December 20, 1907 in Shizuoka, Fujieda, † 16 April 1993 ) was a Japanese writer and physician. He was a major representative of the Japanese I - novel ( shishosetsu ) and influenced by Shiga Naoya.

Life

Fujieda attended the eighth high school in Nagoya and studied at the medical faculty of the University of Chiba. After graduating in 1936, he worked as a doctor in hospitals and started in 1950 as an ophthalmologist in Hamamatsu independently. During this time he wrote novels that were influenced by Shiga Naoya and Takii Tōsaku.

Opened in 2007, to his honor in Fujieda Ogawa Kunios a literary museum.
