Shlomo Zalman Auerbach

Rabbi Shlomo Zalman Auerbach (also: Shlomo Zalman Auerbach, born July 20, 1910 in Jerusalem, † February 19, 1995 in Jerusalem ) was a famous rabbi, Posek school and head of the Kol Torah yeshiva in Israel.

Life

He studied at the Eltz Chaim Jeschiba in Jerusalem, then in the Kollel Kerem Zion with Rabbi Zvi Pesach Frank. At the age of eleven, he is said to have the tractate Kiddushin skillfully heart. His first major published work, which has been praised by Rabbi Chaim Ozer Grodzinski in the highest terms, was entitled Me'orei Esh, the first publication on the subject use of electricity on Shabbat.

Rabbi Shlomo Zalman Auerbach was the most sought after Dezisor his time, respected by all factions of Orthodoxy.

At the funeral of Shlomo Zalman Auerbach in 1995 more than 200 000 people took part.

Rabbi Auerbach had seven sons and a (unknown ) number of daughters, his sons are great rabbinical authorities, as well as politicians.
