Shonda Rhimes

Shonda Rhimes ( born January 13, 1970 in Chicago) is an American screenwriter and producer of television series, known as the creator of the Ärzte-/Krankenhausserien Grey's Anatomy and Private Practice.

Professional career

Shonda Rhimes attended several Catholic schools. She graduated from Dartmouth College. Later she worked in a Chicago hospital as so-called "Candy Striper " ( intern ). 1998 Shonda Rhimes wrote her first screenplay for the film Blossoms & Veils, four years later followed the screenplay for The Princess Diaries 2 and Crossroads - Crossroads with Britney Spears. 2005 started her series Grey's Anatomy, originally conceived as bridging two seasons of Boston Legal, but the series was accepted into the U.S. channel ABC program by the great success.

2007 Private Practice, a spin -off of the series Grey's Anatomy, by Shonda Rhimes has been developed. 2011 was followed by the short-lived medical series Off the Map, and in 2012 Scandal with Kerry Washington in the lead role, both of which also ran or run on ABC.
