The Shor language is the language of Shor, a small indigenous people in southern Siberia. It belongs to the family of Turkic languages ​​.

Speaker and dissemination

The distribution area of Shor includes the Kemerovo Oblast, Autonomous Republic Khakassia and Altai Republic in southern Siberia. In the census (1989 ) reported 9,760 Shors ( 61%) of this language as their mother tongue. Due to the heavy industrialization and urbanization of the core settlement area in the Kuzbass the survival of the language is the medium term unsecured.
