Shuji Tsurumi

Shuji Tsurumi (Japanese鹤 见 修治, Shuji Tsurumi, born January 29, 1938 in Taitō, Tokyo ) is a former Japanese gymnast.

He won a gold medal in the team all-around at the Olympic Summer Games in Rome in 1960. In the competition on pommel horse he won bronze in the individual all-around and he finished fourth. Four years later at the Summer Olympics in Tokyo, he won again the gold in the team all-around. In addition, he won three silver medals in the individual events, the parallel bars, pommel horse and in the individual all-around.

In the World Gymnastics Championships 1966 in Dortmund, he became world champion in team all-around and Vice World Champion in the individual all-around.

Tsumuri was inducted into the International Gymnastics Hall of Fame in 2008.
