Sibiu County

Sibiu is a Romanian county ( Judet ) with the county town of Sibiu (Romanian Sibiu) in the planning region CENTRU ( center ). Historically, it is part of the Transylvania region. The license plate number and the common abbreviation for the circle is SB.

The Sibiu county is bordered on the north by the Mureş county, on the east by the county of Braşov, on the south by the counties of Arges and Valcea and to the west by the Alba County.

The county council president is Martin Bottesch from the DFDR.

Demography

On January 1, 2009, the Sibiu county 424 855 inhabitants and a population density of 78 inhabitants per km ². Besides Romanians, which form the main population, there are still German -speaking and Hungarian-speaking population shares.
