Sidonie of Bavaria

Sidonie von Bayern ( born May 1, 1488 Munich, † March 29, 1505 ibid ) from the house of Wittelsbach was the eldest daughter of Duke Albrecht IV of Bavaria -Munich and his wife Gwendolyn of Austria. She died as a bride of the later Elector Ludwig V of the Palatinate.

Life

Sidonie was born on 1 May 1488 in Munich. Her father was Albrecht since 1465 Duke of Bavaria -Munich, her mother Gwendolyn, the daughter of Emperor Frederick III. At the age of fourteen months she was promised the ten- year-older Ludwig of the Palatinate, the eldest son of Count Palatine Philip. The dowry was 32,000, the dowry amount to 10,000 guilders.
