Siege of Trebizond (1205–06)

The siege of Trebizond took place 1205-1206. The Seljuk Turks were besieging the capital of the Pontus region, Trebizond; The siege ended with the victory of the trapezoidal lower.

Prehistory

The siege of Trebizond arose from the attempt by the Seljuk Sultan Kai Khosrau I. (1192-1196; 1205-1211), to conquer the capital of the Empire of Trebizond, to destroy the newly-born state ( 1204).
