Sigeberht the Little

Sigeberht I ( also Sigberctus Parvus, Sigeberht the Small or Sigebryht; † 650 ) was from about 617 to about 650 King of the Anglo-Saxon Kingdom of Essex.

Life

Sigeberht, son of King Saeward, which was succeeded on the throne 617 after this and had been killed in a battle against the West Saxons his brothers. Despite his long reign, he left virtually no trace in history. After his death around 650 Sigeberht II took the throne.

According to William of Malmesbury, a historian of the 12th century, later King Sighere was ( at 664- 690 ), a son Sigeberhts I of Essex.
