Sigfried Held ( born August 7, 1942 in Freudenthal ), also known as Sigi or Siggi Held, is a former German football player and coach.

He played for Borussia Dortmund, Kickers Offenbach, Preußen Münster and Bayer Uerdingen.

Player

Prior to his move to the Bundesliga in 1965 to Borussia Dortmund played hero for the first time at the OFC in the Regionalliga Süd. The come from TV Marktheidenfeld striker shot on the side of Hermann Nuber and Siggi guest in the season 1964/65 for the Offenbach 15 goals. It came out only the third rank, and so the second time the collection has been missed in the promotion round in a row.

For Borussia Dortmund Siggi Held graduated from 1965-1971 and between 1977 and 1979 a total of 230 Bundesliga matches and scored 44 goals. He was the first player of Borussia, who did not come from the Ruhr area or at least West Germany. With the BVB he won 1965/1966 the European Cup Winners' Cup, one was German Vice Champion and one third in the Bundesliga. The first season in Dortmund 1965/66 has been a great season for the young striker hero. With Reinhard Libuda and Lothar Emmerich together he made a international demands expectant attack. In the European Cup Winners' Cup they defeated one after the teams of FC Floriana Valletta, CSKA Sofia, Atletico Madrid and West Ham United and thus reached the final on May 5, 1966 in Glasgow against the clear favorites Liverpool. The team succeeded in attacking football with a victory over the defending champion (West Ham United) and in the final with the iconic lamp from "Stan" Libuda Liverpool was beaten. Due to the impressive performances this season in the Bundesliga and in the Europa Cup was already Siggi Held on 23 February 1966 match against England in London international. He had an impressive 1965/66 season he was league runner-up, National player to have won the European Cup and was runner-up at the World Cup in England.

For the Kickers Offenbach played hero 1972-1976 133 times in the Bundesliga, scoring 25 goals, so he is still a record Bundesliga player of the Offenbach. In the 1971/72 season, he was instrumental in the side of Erwin Kostedde the rise of the Kickers in the Bundesliga. Between 1979 and 1981 he played 59 Bundesliga games for Bayer Uerdingen and his old club Borussia Dortmund. He scored three goals.

As a national player Sigfried Held graduated 41 games from 1966 to 1973 when she met five times for Germany. He made his debut on 23 February 1966 in London at the 0-1 defeat against the English national football team. At the World Cup in England in 1966, he became Vice World Champion, 1970 in Mexico by third parties. Coach

After his career as a player, he was a club coach and assisted in this capacity from July 1981 to January 1983 FC Schalke 04, which he made the promotion to the Bundesliga. He then spent a year at the then second division BV 08 Lüttringhausen busy, but its descent into the league he could not prevent.

In the 1989/90 season he coached the Turkish traditional club Galatasaray.

In 1991 he was at Admira / Wacker coach and made the club a splash in the Austrian Cup and the European Cup. After that, he was from 1993 to November 1994 worked for Dynamo Dresden.
