Sigitas Jakubauskas

Sigitas Jakubauskas ( born December 29, 1958 in Kaunas ) is a former Lithuanian football player and current football coach. The trained defender played for Zalgiris Vilnius VMFD and last at FC Remscheid.

Career

Jakubauskas played from 1978 to 1989 at the Lithuanian club Zalgiris Vilnius VMFD, where he won in 1982 as the best footballer of the year in Lithuania. In 1990 he came to Germany for second division FC Remscheid and achieved, amongst others, six goals for the Bergische. Today, the former player lives in Germany and trained to June 2010, the second team of FC Remscheid, before he took over the office of the assistant coach of the first team on 1 July 2010.

On August 7, 1985, he also played his only game for the national football team of the USSR against Romania.
