Silca SpA is an international company for the production of keys, key cutting machines and semi-industrial and industrial machines for copying keys. Silca SpA is a company of the Kaba Group, a multinational company that is active in the security sector. Kaba Holding AG is a Swiss Stock Exchange on quoted group and employs approximately 7,500 employees in 60 countries. The Silca brand through 130 distributors and subsidiaries in Italy, Germany, France, UK, Spain, Netherlands, India and Brazil.

History

Silca SpA was founded as a " società per azioni " ( " Aktiengesellschaft " ) Società Italiana Lavorazione Chiavi e affinity ( Italian Society of key manufacturing ) in 1974 in Vittorio Veneto ( Treviso) and gives the activity which previously consisted of small-scale production and duplication of keys, an industrial imprinting. In the course of ten years, the branches IMP were S. A., today Silca S.A.S., in Paris, Silca U.K. Ltd.. , later moved to London and the Silca Germany GmbH in the Holy House in Germany to Velbert, established. 1989 Silca began with the work overseas about the company Silca Keys USA, headquartered in Twinsburg (Ohio ).

In the 1990s Silca acquired in the production of key cutting machines and products for the security sector specialized companies ( Bollini srl, GBZ, Elzett ), while the merger with the Canadian key colossus Unican Group in 1997 was carried out. 2000, the Spanish division Silca Unican Iberica SA, today opened Silca Key Systems SA in Barcelona. In the same year the company acquired the Competitor Ilco Orion SpA

2001 Kaba Holding AG acquires the Unican Group and thus establishes a tätign in the security industry groups on a global level. In the early 2000s Silca invested in technological innovation and expands the functions of the key cutting machines.

Products

The core business of Silca is the production of more than 66,000 blank articles for aircraft up to the postal lockers.

Silca developed and also produces mechanical and electronic key cutting machine with accessories, custom systems for semi-industrial and industrial production of keys and key cutting machines for the security industry and the automotive industry in 250 different variants.

Silca develops software solutions for programming and duplication of keys.
