Silingi

The Silings (also Silinger, Sillingen, latin Silingae ) were a tribe of the Vandals ostgermanischer part, who settled on the territory of modern Silesia. It is possible that the name Silesia is derived from the Silings. Together with the Vandal Asdings fell Silings 406 in Gaul. They moved on to Spain and settled there in the province of Baetica ( of what is now Andalusia) down. After decisive defeats in wars with the Visigoths, the remaining remnants of Silings assumed the kings of the Asdings.
