Silvia Poll

Silvia Poll Ahrens ( * September 24, 1970 in Managua) is a former swimmer from Costa Rica.

The daughter of German parents first grew up in Nicaragua and later in Costa Rica. With her winning the silver medal in the 200 m backstroke at the 1988 Olympics in Seoul, she became the first swimmer from Costa Rica, who won an Olympic medal.

Her younger sister Claudia was 1996 Atlanta Olympic champion over 200 freestyle.
