Silvio Denz

Silvio Denz ( born September 14, 1956 in Basel ) is a Swiss entrepreneur in the fields of perfume, cosmetics, crystal, wine, real estate and art trade. He is also a passionate art collector and wine lovers. Silvio Denz is father of a son ( Claudio, * 1988). He lives in Richmond ( England). The Swiss business magazine balance sheet counts him among the 300 richest Swiss.

Perfumes and cosmetics

After completing a commercial apprenticeship and various activities in the financial, commercial and marketing operations in Switzerland, and the United States Silvio Denz took over in 1980 the management of the Alrodo AG in Zurich. Alrodo was then owned by his father and uncle. The company initially wrapped with eight employees from the purchase of perfume and cosmetics for import perfumeries. In 1984, Silvio Denz, the entire share capital and built the company within 20 years for Switzerland's largest perfumery chain with 120 branch offices. In 2000, Silvio Denz sold the Alrodo AG to the French perfumery chain Marionnaud. Wine

In 1994, Silvio Denz, together with Franz Wermuth and five other partners to Les Grands Vins Wermuth SA in Zurich, today the largest wine auction house in Switzerland. In 1998 he bought with the same partners, the winery Clos d' Agon on the Costa Brava, by internationally renowned oenologist Peter Sisseck ( Dominio Pingus ) is looked after. 2005 Denz bought on the recommendation of his friend Stephan von Neipperg (Château Canon -La and La Mondotte Gaffelière ) the six km east of Saint- Emilion wine estate Château Faugères, which employs 30 staff. It includes 3 wineries: Château Faugères, Château Péby Faugères, both located in the appellation Saint- Emilion, and Château Cap de Faugères in the Côtes de Castillon. 2007 acquired Silvio Denz, the preferred Château de Chambrun in Lalande -de- Pomerol and took over in 2010, together with Peter Sisseck the historic Château Rocheyron in Saint -Emilion. Its wineries in Bordeaux extend to a total of 120 hectares. The wine cellar of Château Faugères is the work of internationally renowned architect Mario Botta. Using the latest technology combined with traditional methods, such as gravity, here wines are made to the highest quality standards and aged in oak barrels. 2012 reached the two wineries Faugères and Château Péby Faugères the classification of Saint Emilion Grand Cru Classé. Property

2003 rose Silvio Denz in London in the real estate bargain. Together with a local partner, he buys old mansions in the London districts of Mayfair, Knightsbridge and Kensington. The houses will be renovated and then offered again for sale.

Silvio Denz is a passionate collector of works by internationally renowned artists. In his collection includes masterpieces from different periods.

Silvio Denz buys more than 30 years high quality wines, mainly from the Bordeaux. His private cellar has over 35,000 bottles.

In the 1980s, Silvio Denz developed a passion for collecting perfume bottles. Today he is the owner of the world's largest private collection of French perfume bottle glass artist René Lalique. His collection is on display at the Musée Lalique in Wingen -sur -Moder in Alsace.
