Simon Amstell

Simon Amstell ( born November 29, 1979 in London ) is a British actor and comedian.

Life

Amstell grew up as the eldest son in a Jewish family with two siblings in London. After leaving school at Beal High School in Redbridge, London district, Amstell began training as an actor. In 1993 he first appeared on British television on in the TV show GamesMaster. From 2000 to 2006 he hosted together with Miquita Oliver Popworld on Channel 4 from 2006 to 2008, he was for four seasons host of the television show Never Mind the Buzzcocks. On April 25, 2009, he finally announced through an e- mail newsletter that he would quit to concentrate on his stand-up shows. After he appeared at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in August 2005 to 2007, he did so most recently in 2009 with his " Do Nothing " show, all of whose performances were sold out. In the fall of 2009, he went after it on his second national tour selfsame title. Having already co-wrote an episode of the Channel 4 teen drama Skins in 2007, is for 2010, the six-part series Grandma's House BBC stated that he wrote and in which he will also be performing themselves.

Amstell is openly homosexual. He lives in London.
