Simon I of Saarbrücken ( † after 1183 ) was from 1135 to 1183 Count of Saarbrücken.

Life

Simon was a son of Count Friedrich von Saarbrücken and his wife Gisela. After the death of his father he succeeded as Count of Saarbrücken, his younger brother Adalbert Archbishop of Mainz in 1138. After Simon's death, his estate was divided. The eldest son, Simon received the county of Saarbrücken, the younger son, Henry, founded the county Zweibrücken.
