Simone Kermes

Simone Kermes ( born May 17, probably in 1970 in Leipzig ) is a German opera, operetta, song and concert singer in the vocal range soprano.

Life and artistic work

The singer is a trained professional for writing technique. Soon after completion of their vocational training, she studied singing with Helga Forner at the Academy of Music and Theatre " Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy " Leipzig. She then attended master classes with Elisabeth Schwarzkopf and Others, Barbara Schlick, Jessica Cash and Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau. Your studies as well as two following postgraduate studies she graduated with honors. In 1993, she successfully took part in the Mendelssohn Competition in Berlin and in 1996 was prizewinner at the International Johann Sebastian Bach Competition in Leipzig.

This was followed by numerous engagements. She appeared on the opera stages of Stuttgart, Wiesbaden, Bonn, Dortmund, Mainz, Koblenz, Copenhagen, Cologne also at the Brooklyn Academy of Music in New York and at the Théâtre des Champs- Élysées in Paris. For her role as Gilda in Rigoletto repertoire includes the title roles in Alcina, Lucia di Lammermoor, Orpheus and Eurydice, Konstanze in The Abduction from the Seraglio, Fiordiligi in Così fan tutte, Clivia Clivia in and Rosalinde in Die Fledermaus. 2014 she sang for the first time La Folie in Rameau Platée at the Theater an der Wien and at Lincoln Center in New York.

During her studies led the artist concert engagements throughout Europe, the USA and Japan. She was a foreign national and international festivals such as the Schwetzingen Festival, the Innsbruck Festival of Early Music, the Kissinger Summer Festival, the Festival of Ancient Music in Knechtsteden, Ludwigsburg Castle Festival, the Göttingen Handel Festival and the Festival of Old Music in Neuburg an der Donau.

In addition to many radio and television productions complement numerous CD recordings of their artistic activity. So she sang in 2001 at the 2003 ECHO Klassik in the category choral work excellent CD recording of Balthasar Neumann Choir and Ensemble under the direction of Thomas Hengelbrock in The Creation by Joseph Haydn.
