Sioma Ngwezi National Park

The 5000 km ² large Sioma - Ngweizi National Park is surrounded by further 35,000 km ² Game Mangemant Area in the Siloana level and is located in the Western Province of Zambia just west of the upper reaches of the Zambezi River on the border with Namibia. He can be reached by Livingstone on a well paved road over Sesheke and the Zambezi bridge.

The park is considered to be wild and undeveloped. It is made of teak forests, open bushland and Kalahari vegetation. In the south close to parks in Namibia and Botswana. You can see there are 3,000 elephants, cheetahs, zebras and antelopes especially: Puku, impala, roan, sable, kudu. The animal population has suffered greatly during the civil war in the near Angola, where the animals migrate, and is only slowly recovering.

The park has no facilities for visitors, but on the Zambezi there are some nearby lodges from where day trips to the park can be started.
