Sixt Birck

Birck studied theology at the universities of Erfurt, Tübingen and Basel. In Basel, he worked 1530-1536 as a teacher at the grammar school was. After that, he was the rector of the grammar school at St. Anna in Augsburg. He was also the first librarian of the newly founded city library.

Birck wrote his works under the pseudonym Xystus Betulius ( " Betula " Latin. For " birch " ) and dealt with in his dramas on biblical subjects, to them gave he Linking past and present.
