History
First years in the World Cup (1979-1987)
At the opening event of the Four Hills Tournament 1979/80 for the first time took part in the Bulgarian ski jumping World Cup. Valentin Boischov was 83, Angel Stojanov 95th, Peter Dimitrov 99th and Vladimir Breitschew 102 After many more international participation of Bulgarian ski jumpers Vladimir Breitschew posted on January 14, 1984 in Harrachov than 13 three Weltcuppunkte.Allerdings participated in this competition also 15 Springer part. With these three points, he finished at the end of the 69th place in the overall standings. For Bulgaria, it was the 16th in the national rankings.
Success (1987-1992)
Only in the season 1987/1988, Bulgaria has made back World Cup points, again by Vladimir Breitschew. With two points, he finished 71st place overall. Also in the next season only Breitschew could win World Cup points. The season 1989/1990 has been for over 20 years the most successful season in Bulgaria: Breitschew took 23 World Cup points, finishing in 34th place in the World Cup overall standings. Zachary Sotirow also scored 6 points and finished at the end of the 48th. Early 1992 in Predazzo Bulgaria was also in a team competition at the start, but was only 13 and thus last. After this season Breitschew and Sotirow ended their careers.
Complete immersion (1992-2007)
Between 1992 and 2007, the Bulgarian national ski jumping team disappeared completely from the scene.
Achievements of Vladimir Sografski (since 2007)
Managed only in December 2008 Pragelato with Vladimir Sografski again a Bulgarian qualifying for a World Cup competition, finishing in 43 Platz.In Klingenthal again he managed to qualify for a World Cup competition. Summer 2009 could Sografski qualify for three competitions, but remained without points. Even in winter, he managed several times to qualify, but again he could not reach the second round. For the first time jumped into this winter Bogomil Pavlov in the World Cup, but yet he always missed the qualification. In summer 2010 Sografski made the breakthrough. In three of the Summer Grand Prix Jumping where he was at the start, he always reached in the 2nd round and finished in Courchevel sensational 5th place. At the end Sografski finished with 61 points 33rd place overall. In Continental him in Almaty get two second places. In the end, that was enough for a 5th place overall. Even in winter Sografski made it often in the points. At the Junior World Championships in Otepaeae Sografski won gold. Bogomil Pavlov was 22 and Dejan Funtarow 45
