Škoda Rapid

The compact sedan Skoda Rapid is a produced since October 7, 2011 Vehicle of the car manufacturer Škoda Auto. This version for emerging and developing countries must be distinguished from the available starting in 2012 for Europe model also called "rapid ".

The Indian Rapid model differs in several details from the European version: So the design is kept simple, the front section was acquired by Škoda Fabia. Production began in India Skoda VW Chakan plant. The vehicle is located in the product range between the Fabia and the Skoda Octavia and technically largely identical to the sedan version of the Volkswagen Polo V. The luggage compartment in the rear of the vehicle has a volume of 500 liters.

The term Rapid has already been used several times by the Czech company, most recently for the coupe Škoda Rapid 130 in the 1980s.

Initially, a 1.6-liter gasoline engine with 77 kW and a 1.6 - liter diesel engine with the same power with common- rail injection technology is available. When transmission is a 5 -speed manual gearbox ( petrol and diesel) or a 6-speed direct shift gearbox (only petrol ) are available.
