Škoda Rapid Spaceback (since 2013)

The Skoda Rapid is a compact cars. The near-production Škoda MissionL could already be seen on the IAA 2011. The vehicle closes the gap between the Fabia and Octavia.

Production

The Rapid is manufactured with the identical Seat Toledo Skoda factory in Mlada Boleslav. The vehicles for the Asian markets come from the production of Shanghai Volkswagen. The market launch in Germany was on 20 October 2012.

The Rapid is based, like the Roomster on multiple platform segments from the VW Group.

In India, a car manufactured since 2011, which has nothing in common with the model available in Europe, but also called Rapid.

Body versions

The Rapid has been offered since the fall of 2012 as a saloon with a large tailgate and since the late summer of 2013 in a shorter version hatchback as Rapid Spaceback. The engine range is the same for both versions, only the smallest engine with 55 kW is not offered for the Rapid Spaceback.

Equipment

The basic equipment includes six airbags, ABS and ESP, central locking, power steering, tilt steering wheel and power windows. For sale is the model with the three equipment lines Active, Ambition and Elegance. The latter two trim levels include, among other amenities available additional air conditioning.

For the Rapid Spaceback a Panoramglasdach with extended glass rear window is available for a surcharge.

Specifications

The consumption of Skoda Rapid 1.2 MPI is, according to factory specifications in 5.8 liters of gasoline per 100 kilometers. Using Green- Tec package of Škoda ( it includes an additional charge, among other things, a start - stop system and brake energy recovery) decreases the fuel consumption in the EU-wide standardized driving cycle NEDC.
