Skyper

Skypers referred to a three-piece ensemble of buildings near the station of Frankfurt am Main on the corner Taunus conditioning and Taunus Strasse. It consists of a neoclassic villa ( " Villa Skyper " ) from 1915, a 153.8 -meter-high skyscraper ( " skypers - Hochhaus" ) and a residential and commercial building ( " skypers -Carré "). The ensemble was established in its present form in the years 2002-04.

History

The design for the 480 - million - euro project was designed by Frankfurt architects JSK Architects who have been commissioned by Holzmann AG. Your approved design, the architects realized then for the general contractor ABG and the new purchaser, the DekaBank. This had acquired the building for an open-ended property fund Deka Immobilien and after the handover of the building in 2005 they moved as the main tenant, the lower floors. Reputed Tenants are also HSBC, the German Bundesbank and the international investment bank Houlihan Lokey.

From 2006 to 2013, the skypers was owned by an investment company of the Swiss bank UBS. In April 2013, the Allianz insurance company bought the building.

Architecture

The 39 -story skyscraper, which occupies the 15th place in the ranking of the highest building in Europe, rises on a striking, quarter-circular plot, so it is an essential part of the Frankfurt skyline. Structurally it is a reinforced concrete frame structure with a glass curtain wall.

At the building closes to the east by a nine -meter high glass hall, the neo-classical Grade II listed mansion built in 1915. The villa belonged, as the entire area, the construction company Philipp Holzmann and was the headquarters of the Board. A residential and commercial building with 52 one-to three -room apartments and a row of shops on the ground floor complements the building ensemble.
