Slanted and Enchanted is the debut album by American indie rock band Pavement. It was released in April 1992 on Matador Records and was then re-released on numerous labels.

Genesis

The album was in 1991 sold to various critics, but this early version is not yet included all band members, which added only met during production. During the recordings of the drummer Gary Young was so nervous that Bob Nastanovich for him always the timing had to audition - in addition to his work as a tour manager.

Others

An expanded two- CD version of the album Slanted and Enchanted called: Luxe & Reduxe was published in 2002. Together with the 14 original tracks, there are ten tracks from the Aufnahmesessionsn on CD 1 and thirteen live tracks from a concert at the Brixton Academy in London on 14 December 1992 on CD 2

The name of the album comes from a title of cartoons by David Berman, frontman of the Silver Jews. It is also an allusion to a line of the poem Kubla Khan by Samuel Taylor Coleridge.

2007, sold 150,000 copies of the album.

Music videos were shot for the songs " Here" and "Perfume - V ", but they ran hard on music television and were later re-released on the Slow Century DVD.

Reception

The album reached number 134 in the list of published by the journal Rolling Stone list of the 500 best albums of all time and space 23 of the spex and Viva Two - list 100 plates of the century.

In Pitchfork Media, the album reached the top rating of 10.0 / 10 points and was placed as the fifth best album of the 90s. In the original list, the album arrived and got to number 3

The U.S. music magazine Blender awarded the title of best indie album of all time Slanted and Enchanted.
