Slavko Osterc

Slavko Osterc (born 17 June 1895 in Veržej, † May 23 1941 in Ljubljana) was a Yugoslav composer.

Osterc studied at the Conservatory of Prague Karel Boleslav Jirák, Vítězslav Novák and Alois Haba. Until 1939, he taught at the conservatory, and then at he Academy of Music Ljubljana. He composed six operas and five ballets, a symphony, two symphonic poems and five symphonic pieces, a trifle, a suite, an overture, a concert and a Passacaglia for Orchestra, a concerto for piano and wind instruments, chamber music, piano and organ pieces, choral works and songs. He has also written a harmony.
