Slax

Slax (formerly Slackware Live CD ) is a Slackware -based GNU / Linux distribution that can be run directly from a CD as a live CD. The 200 MB ISO image so it will fit on a mini CD. In addition there exists an equal Slax version in TAR format, which you can install in a few steps on a USB stick. This version of Slax for USB sticks stores - in contrast to most other live USB systems - all changes; it behaves thus like a normally installed operating system.

Slax used - unlike the Knoppix - based live distributions - a modular concept. The modules include one or more software packages. For Slax system optional modules should be loaded and the system's functionality can be extended. This concept makes it easy to customize to your own needs.
