Sledgehammer Games

Sledgehammer Games is a manufacturer of computer games. The studio was founded in 2009 by Glen Schofield and Michael Condrey, who had previously worked at Visceral Games and were responsible inter alia for the development of the Dead Space series.

History

Sledgehammer Games began in 2009 with the development of Call of Duty title in the third-person perspective that would change the series fundamentally. As Infinity Ward left in April and May 2010, Jason West and Vince Zampella, along with 47 other employees, Activision did stop the development and cooperate with the now occupied with Infinity Ward to Call of Duty: being able to finish Modern Warfare 3. After the development of the new THD was stopped, Sledgehammer Games said that a further development can not be excluded.

Reception

Sledge hammer first game Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 was sold only in the United States and the United Kingdom 6.5 million times in one day and hereby achieved a turnover of 470 million U.S. dollars. International 775 million U.S. dollars in sales were achieved within a week. Thus Modern Warfare 3 is on the first place of the English bestseller list.
