A slide viewer is a simple optical device for increased direct view of slides.

In the simple design with use of the ambient light of the slide viewer is colloquially called " Gucki ", but this was originally a product name of Agfa, which became synonymous with similar articles. 1966 View-Master of General Aniline & Film Corporation was acquired (GAF ).
